the Kersjes’

Milly was one of my first friends in Newberg.  I was herding my crew of Little People (ages 7,6, 4, and 2) through the pre-school parking lot to register my 4 year old for school when she stepped out of her car.  Elegant and sophisticated to my haggard and tired, Milly introduced herself with her beautiful Serbian accent and told me I had nice legs.  I almost cried.  It was just the encouragement this weary momma in a new town needed.  Our pre-schoolers are now about to finish middle school and we’ve loved sharing bits and pieces of our lives with each other over the years.  I’m so grateful that God loves us so personally to give us friends – new and old – with words of life at the time we need them most. Thank you Milly for letting me photograph your beautiful family.  And thank you for speaking life into me all those years ago.  Love you.

Wow! I know Milly from her earlier years in Holland. She hasn’t changed a bit! What a beautiful pictures of a warm and kind family! So lovely to see Milly again! For different reasons I haven’t seen Milly for 20 years, but I will never forget this very special lady! Warm greetings, Froukje Smeding, Breda, Holland
